New Managing Director for Venture Cup

From 1st of July, the end of Venture Cup's competition year, National Manager Michael Bak will replace Tine Thygesen as Managing Director.

Tine Thygesen, who has led Venture Cup since 2008, is going back into "live entrepreneurship" and will become the CEO of tech startup 23. 23 is primarily known for their corporate video hosting platform, 23Video.com.

"I know that Venture Cup is in more than capable hands with Michael Bak in charge, so although it is always sad to leave an organization you've enjoyed working in as much as I have in Venture Cup, I believe this is time to start the next chapter in both mine and Venture Cup's life" says Tine Thygesen.

Michael Bak has been with Venture Cup since 2007 in different positions, latest as National Manager, responsible for operations.

"It was important for us finding the right candidate after the rapid growth Venture Cup has experienced recently under the management of Tine Thygesen. We feel confident that Michael Bak, who has played a key role in this growth is the best person for the job. Michael has strong regional connections having worked and studied in both Jutland, Funen and Copenhagen and this makes him an even more apt candidate for the job" says Mette Mønsted, Vicedean of Entrepreneurship at CBS and Chairman of Venture Cup's Board of Directors.

"I must say it is a privilege taking over such a thriving organization, with such dedicated staff in this period of time when the whole entrepreneurship scene in Denmark is booming" says the new Managing Director Michael Bak.
