NKK Innovation from Aalborg University in Esbjerg won this year's Venture Cup Applied Technology competition and the first prize of 50,000DKK!
NKK Innovation has developed a simple, innovative design solution called "Wall-Click-System" which simplifies a part of the building process on site and hereby reduces the time of construction dramatically for light walls. At the same time it offers better working conditions and reduces the use for material.
"They are targeting an attractive and very well defined market. It is a strong team which combines experience from the industry with business background and which has a strong vision for the future. At the same time the Wall-Click-System is a simple but well thought of product that addresses a real problem, has patent protection and is ready for the market" says Klaus Lorentzen, Vice President, Product Development at Velux and a member of Venture Cup's jury.
Venture Cup Applied Technology 2010 was judged by a group of business professionals from our Venture Cup Jury:
Jakob Boman (Wemind), Søren J. Nielsen (NorthCap Partners), Klaus Lorentzen (Velux), Lene Vognsen (Arla Foods) & Umar Akram (Mobile Weaver).
"It is really, really fantastic! It is a real boost that can make us attack a broader market and help us go international. It also means that we can strengthen our patents and focus on getting the product out there" says Kristian Dollerup from NKK Innovation.
