Computerfriend from Aalborg University won this year's Venture Cup Services competition and the first prize of 50,000DKK!
Computerfriend offers direct 24h online support for the private sector as well as small-medium sized businesses by building a platform, which allows "everyday experts" to use their expertise in solving IT problems for a large number of users.
"The jury was very excited about Computerfriend, because they solve a real problem which everybody recognizes. Who hasn't had IT-trouble late at night ending up calling a friend to help solve the issue? This problem is addressed, structured and commercialized very well by Computerfriend" says Henrik Brorsen, Director of CONNECT Denmark and a member of Venture Cup's jury.
Venture Cup Services 2010 was judged by a group of business professionals from our Venture Cup Jury:
Charlotte Sørensen (Juriqa lawfirm), David Gram (Siemens), Henrik Brorsen (CONNECT Denmark), Tejn Vanting Nielsen (e-conomic) & Trine-Maria Kristensen (Socialsquare)
"It is awesome! The whole experience has been amazing in terms of the whole network, the atmosphere and the prize itself. We are very much looking forward to collaborating with the people we met through Venture Cup" says Thomas Steen, one of the founders of Computerfriend.
Tine Thygesen, Managing Director of Venture Cup, proudly concludes: "The level in this year's Venture Cup has been impressive. Not only has the number of business plans received been the highest ever - the quality has also been exceptional. The fact that we at Venture Cup have been able to reach all parts of the country and gather so many ambitious entrepreneurial ideas sends a strong signal about a great potential being present at the Danish universities"
