kkloud from Aarhus University won this year's Venture Cup Software competition and the first prize of 50,000DKK!
kkloud has developed a new way to share files directly through the internet browser, and which allows for uploading and downloading of large files to take place simultaneously.
"kkloud solves a problem which everybody working with big files recognize: it is difficult and time consuming to share these files quick and efficient online. SEED Capital has as investor a natural interest for companies exactly like kkloud which has a huge growth potential through simple solutions for a potential large customer base. The jury is particularly pleased with the fact that they have already launched a product that works and have a growing number of users, even at this early stage of establishing the company" says Niels Vejrup Carlsen, Investment Manager at SEED Capital and a member of Venture Cup's jury.
Venture Cup Software 2010 was judged by a group of business professionals from our Venture Cup Jury:
Henrik Mansfeldt Witt (Integra Law), Ricco Zuschlag (Boliga), Thomas Bering (Google), Torben Falholt (IT Practice), Niels Vejrup Carlsen (SEED Capital) & Torben Majgaard (Ciklum).
"It is awesome and we are very proud! Now we can start realizing our business plan and are one step closer to world domination" says Mathias Buus Madsen from kkloud with a smile.
Tine Thygesen, Managing Director of Venture Cup, proudly concludes: "The level in this year's Venture Cup has been impressive. Not only has the number of business plans received been the highest ever - the quality has also been exceptional. The fact that we at Venture Cup have been able to reach all parts of the country and gather so many ambitious entrepreneurial ideas sends a strong signal about a great potential being present at the Danish universities"
