KLIMAKONKURRENCE 2009

Danish cleantech company Vestas is the global leader in wind energy systems.
Vestas is a fascinating company. Headquartered in Århus, this $6 billion company has been growing at almost 25% per year and is 100% dedicated to providing end-to-end wind energy systems for use throughout the world.
In 2008 the company's employee base grew by almost 8,000 employees and today the company has more than 21,000 employees located in 29 countries. This company has grown rapidly: in 1986 they were a small engineering company of 66 people. Such tremendous growth has been driven by the company's focus on its core market: exquisitely engineered, highly efficient, end-to-end solutions for wind energy.
René Balle, Director of Global Technology, will entertain us with the story of Vestas, with a focus on how it is possible to build a succesful global company.
