The team Lendino from University of Copenhagen and Copenhagen Business School won the category People & Society for their P2P lending platform.
Lendino is introducing an online lending platform, where creditworthy companies can upload their loan applications; so potential lenders can inspect the applications and lend money to a company of their choice. Today it is difficult for companies to get access to finance even though deposit rate are low. Lendino’s lending platform is a more cost efficient way to deliver finance so that borrowers can expect lower rates while lenders can expect higher return.
The jury consisted of business people from Babycourage, Cisnio, Bearskin Ventures, Awapatent, Jobindex and Fonden for Entreprenørskab.
Jury member Jytte Prieem Balle from Awapatent A/S explains why they chose Lendino as their category winner:
“Frankly speaking, we had three very strong but also very different teams and plans in the People and Society category. We chose Lendino as our winner because they had managed to come with an idea, which ultimately can be of great help for the entire start-up community in Denmark and thus help creating many, many jobs. Also, they had managed to team up with a very strong board of advisors, which bodes well for the future of Lendino.”
